So, asking why I want two mediocre guitars is a polite way to understand what I'm trying to achieve? And calling the guitars I'm interested in mediocre is not expressing an opinion? You're too much, Dude!
The answer was elegant. The comment was...kinda like the speed bump in the middle of the highway, lol.

I also have a Gitane 370. I have had it for years (bought second hand) and despite it having a very thin profile neck, I still like it. The 310 has a fuller tonal range with a bit more bass and has a good bark when you play it a bit harder, but my 370 has a Bigtone fitted which is a good one and produces a pretty good sound through my AER. There's also the way it looks - I think the 370 is fabulous! That flamed maple is gorgeous. I put a Miller tailpiece on mine. For those reasons and despite the tone and volume not quite being as good as the 310, I want to keep the 370... for the time being!
