Here is Les Paul and Mary Ford with Naguine and Babik after Django had died. Les Paul helped Naguine financially including getting her a better deal on royalties from Django's recordings.

Les paul was noy only a great guitarist and an innovator always looking to advance the sound of the instrument, but as Teddy points out, he was generous behind the scene as well. Plus, how many guitarists and other musicians did he do honor to by inviting them up to play with him on stage? Great guitarist and an even greater human being. And another direct link to Django gone...
I've never been a guitar player, but I've played one on stage.

I love the line, speaking of Django:
and, when he was told "a fellow named Django is here to see you," Paul's reply was:
What a guy.
"I like to play in a little joint where nobody bothers me."
A great credo, great man.
pas encore, j'erre toujours.

His ideas, music, and playing of gigs into old age are an inspiration.
