Howdy,
I am looking for some new gypsy jazz CD's to purchase. I have to say that (personally) I am getting bored with all of the shredders. I'd really like to pick up some good CD's where the artists pay more emphasis toward melody and lyricism. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!,

best,
Jack.
Old School stuff:
- Most any Ferret (and there were a lot of them, Matelot, Bamboula (Baro?), Sarane, Boulou, Elois... (Boulou & Elois are actually still active...)
- Jo Privat
Bands/Albums from guys still performing - my favorite lyrical albums from them:
-Gonzalo Bergara; Portena Soledad
-Zaiti Ensemble; Still Time
-Hot Club San Francisco; Django & the Impressionists
-Pearl Django; Under Paris Skies
-Billet Deux; Alita
-Selmer 607; Eponymous
-Romane; Swing for Ninine and/or Romane w/ Frederik Manu? Orchestra
-Moreno; Moreno Bolero
-Mark Atkinson; (the numbered albums, I, II, III)
Probably a lot I've forgotten - these are top of head, but they're all good albums at any rate.
