I've never really bought into the toneright. Kind of seems like those things that you attach to overweight housewives' stomachs which vibrate the fat away.
That said, I do believe in the "played in" principal. I just prefer to do it the old fashioned way.
Ian, I've been a lurker on, and have enjoyed this thread....I've the 300 as well, and after laying dormant for a couple years, it's been sweating like a dog the last few months. I know it's no heirloom, but I'm grateful for its sound. Sounds like yours is doing yeoman's service as well.
Thanks,
What year is your 300? I understand that the neck profile has changed in recent years; some have a pronounced "U" shape, while later models (like my 2010) have a "clubbier" feel. Have you done any mods to the guitar?
Ian, not sure on the year, but I did get it a few years back. Feels pretty round, though there is some corner to it. The only mod I've done is a pro-setup in Chicago back when I started, and Dupont bridge. It laid dormant for a few years - still contend with some pretty bad spine issues, but said to hell with it and play - but it's been getting a lot of hours since this last winter.

All I can say is this; I used it on the 300, and I really like whatever it did.
pas encore, j'erre toujours.

It's a movement!
Shhhh.....the 300 starts under cover of night.
Then we take Dupont et al ... by sheer force of will.
