As @AndyW suggested. Let's record something together. Wouldn't that be awesome? Whole planet is doing it. Let's give people something to watch and listen to from Djangobooks umbrella.

Volunteers, is there anyone who can handle video editing?
Anybody for audio mixing and production? I could take this on if need be but don't expect a lot.
There will be more questions and challenges as it goes on and we'll tackle it one by one.

I would jump in, sounds super fun
This is a fantastic idea!!!
But when all interested persons will send a chorus, this might become a veryveryvery long song. To avoid boredom, I would suggest 2 or 3 tunes (with different levels of difficulty, different tempi and atmospheres), and open them for other instruments (even voice?) too. And allowing not only soloing, but also playing the melody again (with different phrasing and embellishments), and alternative or additional accompaniment.
I'd be up for that. At the moment I just record on my phone though. I'd probably have to learn how to record video and audio seperately and then combine them somehow.
I think for many participants it would be less stressful if they recorded audio only. Photos (and drawings?) should be o.k..

That sounds cool. I suppose depending on how many people joins in we can decide on that. I like the idea, EP of sorts. But we also need to make it simple enough so it's gonna get done. Wise words of a friend of mine: if it feels like a chore, I'll never do it.
However you normally do it. It's easy to extract audio only from a phone recording.
Let's leave it up to the person. But I agree, it is much easier to just record audio without worrying about the video at the same time. Whatever everyone wants to do.
