I don't think Michael sells these, but I used to use one on an acoustic guitar of mine. It is an option if you don't want to put the other button somewhere. Just loops under the strings behind the nut. No drilling required.
Would a button there impact playability in the cutaway area? If you're not actually standing with the guitar, and are just trying to get it into a more upright position, I know several GJ players who use the little pillows on their leg for the guitar and that seems to work well.
I think he will be standing up. But I personally also wouldn't use the button behind the heel, it has to make it more difficult to reach behind the cutaway. But maybe it's a matter of adjusting and getting used to it. Anywhere would work as long as there is enough depth for the screw.
Hey thanks all! Great advice, yes to standing...it's only for a few tunes here & there & there's not many gigs. I think I am going to take @billyshakes idea and get the headstock strap attachment folk style thing just to try it. Appreciate y'all!
About my soldering skills...I can get it done but it ain't ever pretty or full of confidence. I enlisted a friend of mine, who actually built my amp, Dave Christensen to tweak my cabling some. :) Anyway way better. I previously had the entire Krivo Pickup length of Mogami cable with a couple of 1/4" jacks rattling around inside. I wasn't sure where the clips were going to go until I got in there, was thinking the sides but they ended up on the back. That might change but this is nicer for sure. Easy to get to if I want to pull it.
In other news, I still suck at GJ but these Optima strings feel nice and I think the guitar sounds good plugged in.

Awesome I was planning on doing the same thing soon, I saw Robin Nolan with 3d printed thing it looks like to hold the pickup and permanently drilled it in I think

Clean job!
Hey thanks for the link @billyshakes! Something to consider but at this point I think I'm all in with sticking the other button on there.

That's it, looking good!
Where do you get Optima strings? I thought I was just about the only person in the country that's using them.
