i like the vintage finish look but i can't understand why anyone would want scratches on a new guitar. i think that's taking it a bit far. i wonder how these 'antiqued' guitars will look in 40 years

Yeah, thats sort of how i feel too, I just like the flat(not shiny) dark look of the top wood. I don't like scratches/black marks/etc...
Please, no more guessing games about the luthier of the Selmer replica. He would really like to remain anonymous, so please respect that. He would like to avoid getting inundated with requests to make more of these replicas. These are two special guitars and there won't be any more.

That is not only a fabulous looking guitar, it is a fabulous sounding guitar. The reason I know this is that it not only sounds great when Denis plays it (as you would expect), it even sounds great when someone else plays it!
