Small tube amp quest

Is the 57 champ reissue loud and clean enough for most small bar gigs? I have a blues Junior too. Does the champ not sound boxey in comparison?

Musician's Friend just had a daily deal on the Supro Delta King 10, 5 watt tube amp with built in reverb in white for $399. It's still a decent price at $499. I almost bought one, but passed as I already have a bunch of amps I don't use. Fender is selling a '68 Custom Vibro Champ Reverb 5w, 10 inch speaker re-issue for $799. They both look like they would be good for GJ gigs.

That vibro champ reverb would be great. I'm using a vox pathfinder 15r. Has a 1/4 line out for plugging into PA so you can keep the amp volume lower to achieve a bit less crunch depending on situation. Not perfect but I get compliments on the sound

Indeed, Buco. I spoke to my local gear store about the Delta King 12 today. They dont have one in stock but will have one shipped in soon. I'll check it out when it arrives & let you all know how it sounds. Billy, I like the cream colored version. Nice tip, nomadgtr!

There is only a 3 lb weight difference between the Delta and the Blues Jr.

Yes, the Champs will hold their own in drummerless restaurant and/or bar settings. 5 tube watts is louder than many people think.

Those Supro amps look killer. I keep forgetting they are an option. Has anyone used one with a Stimer style pickup?
