Hi,
related to your subject somewhat: I am a flute player just charging into full time on alto flute (transposed a 4th above concert). Would any of you out there, talking about jazz lead sheets in Finale form, be willing to send/sell some files of jazz lead sheets so I could load, transpose and print for an alto flute book - nobody does this transposition.
thanks!
Joe
Dear fellow gadji,
Is there a way to save this project, and maybe collect all the good work that was already done and put it on some kind of Yahoo!Group or Google group. It would be worth it in order to keep this thing work and restrict the access to the people really interested in it ? I am.
If someone already have the files, I'd happy to take care of it or to do whatever's needed to save it.
It seems that I can still get the files if I type the tune name and search for it. If the project still on on this website or else, then nevermind, otherwise I can collect everything that's done and try to set it up somewhere else ?
What you guys think ?
Don't worry about having no finale skills. Proofreading is great. I'll make the change to Swing 42 right now. As long as Michael says it is ok to do this, I'll start posting the other ones that I have done (Djangology, Minor Swing, Daphne). ciaweb
New to the GJ world, and found this thread. I thought the idea of this project was very good. Being new to the area, I've got a lot of learning to do, so a fake book of this type is just what I need to get me familiar with the tunes.
There hasn't been a post on this topic, so I was wondering if it was dead or not. The links to the site are not valid, but some of the posts have some good info. So, can someone let us know if this project is still active, but 'hidden' somewhere where only the Berklee grads live?
Still getting books for Djangobooks and learning a lot, just wanted to build my knowledge.
Sorry, if this was already answered somewhere, so pls forgive.
Pretty sure it's dead...I think the zip file below contains everything that was on the site. You can probably find or build a more comprehensive one just by looking around this site for charts.
Thanks for the response and the zip. Actually, found it in the Read Me First thread (Gee, wonder why that thread has that name? Duh! ;-) ).
Also, since you're around...
Are you still posting Tune / Song of the Month. As I said, I've been going through the forums, and really glad I got to it, through the advice of Ryan Hoffman (Peal Django, Zazou).
I'm struggling to find 'live' musicians to learn from here in the Kansas City area, so I'm depending on the internet, and sites like this for pointers.
Thanks to all that contribute their knowledge, newbies like me really appreciate it. Special thanks to the folks that run djangobooks too!
Funny you ask, I noticed some more people seem to be reading those again lately, and it seemed like it might be a good time to bring it back. The trouble is that I'm in the middle of a ton of other stuff right now and just don't have the time for it...anyone else want to take up responsibility for Tune of The Month?
