I believe Jack is working on coming up with a short list of the first tunes to do, then we can start working!
Now that I think about it, it's probably better that people just pick the tunes they want to see and start working on them. Otherwise we may end up with people who'd like to help waiting on the sidelines because the 'top 10' are already being worked on. Besides, everyone's going to have a different list in the end-I'd love to see some of the more obscure tunes worked on, but realize that the most useful are going to be things like Djangology, Blues en Mineur, etc...
So, if you have a favorite tune and can make a chart, please jump in!
an editorial note, (Berklee-izing chord symbols should look like Cmaj7 Cm7 rather than using dashes. It can potentially get messy and confusing, This way there's no question what a chord is.
Being a Berklee grad myself, I totally agree with you and understand the proper way to write chords (though messiness problems don't arise in computer copying, only in hand copying). I made the conscious decision to do it wrong for 3 reasons. I wanted to copy the Real Book as exactly as I could so that people used to reading out of the real book would find these charts easy to read. Also, given the large size of the Jazz Chord font, writing a chord like Amin7(b5) would have taken up way too much space whereas A-7b5 is much more compact. Also, my chord library for the font used the Real Book system rather than the proper Berklee way and it is a pain to change it.
If this really bothers a lot of people, then we can talk about changing it, but if it is just us Berklee guys, I think it will be easier just to keep it.

Totally agree. I think the new intro on the main page expresses your ideas now.

Yeah, Berklee is good times. I graduated in '03 (Contemporary Writing and Production), but am going back in January to finish off my performance degree. I am planning on playing gypsy jazz almost exclusively for my Jury and Recital, so this is my chance to get prepared.
