I don't know what Django would think if he knew he was gonna be Berklee-ized !!!

makes you wonder given access to a formal music education, would he have been into it or if you go with his supposed 'slacker-like' attitude of showing up late, etc. would he had not been at all interested in it.

One doesn't exclude the other, does it ?
Isn't it very artsy to be very good at something and have a little bit of an attitude ?
And besides, was he really always late, or are you just talking about the second and last show with Duke Elligton's orchestra when he got drunk with boxer Marcel Cerdan, so happy to find a French face in NYC ? :)

Django was chronically late, and then there were the times when he didn't show up at all. He was a very happy-go-lucky sort who didn't consider bookings to be any more important than fishing or playing pool. When he failed to show, Joseph played lead guitar (very capably, from what I understand).

I updated the wiki with a file for every pdf and finale file I have created. If you see any finale errors, go ahead and update them and send me the revised version. Or just email me with your suggestions.

    Thanks!

You can now upload pdfs to the wiki, so if you have a pdf you want to share, go ahead and upload it there. Then one of our copyists can put that into our template.

Remember the website for the wiki is http://www.petersonmusic.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page

The idea of a hand drawn version of Django is awesome. I think we would all appreciate something like that anyway. Sounds great!

I did get it. You are right about the last two bars on the bridge. I'll add those. I thought about it while creating the chart, but left it out because it isn't always played. It seems that more people want it than not, so I'll add it.

    Thanks

Chiming in on how great an idea this is! Though due to day job and time constraints I can't help yet in any big way at present. I need to find out more about Finale, since now all the charts I write out are by hand, thus tedious to do. Once I get a music scoring app I might possibly lend a hand.

Andrew Lawrence posted PDFs of the best known Django tunes on his DiJ site to help musicians prepare, and I thought those were helpful, though don't know if they're rigorously correct. Anybody know what app those were scored in?

Again, great job all, especially Chris for taking the initiative...Jack too, for the support.

Ok, can you give me a deadline? What i'll do is start it up tonight and if it doesn't make it to the print then thats fine too.

By the way i call this 'Jazz Art'. An Interpretation thru my ears of Django. Somethin i made up myself. How big should it be?

    Ash.
