Good call about the weight, Jim. I'm going to try out a Supro Delta King 10 as well. Looks like it only weighs 23lbs. At 5 watts, it may be enough for my cafe/restaurant gigs. It'll be interesting to see how the tones of the 2 Supros compare to the Blues Jr.
The Vintage 47 185-G looks like a great amp. The video by Jonathan Stout on the Vintage 47 website is excellent.

JSanta, I have a Supro Black Magick that I use for GJ gigs. I use it with a Peche-a-la-mouche-pickup and it works great. That's 25 watts vs 15 though so I would expect the Delta to break up sooner as you crank the volume. I never get loud enough with the Black Magick for it to break up very much.
Cheaper solution?
have an earlier version, one of the cool things is you turn off the overdrive and let it be clean. Works quite well.

I had a jr Barnyard too. They sound great. You can also get with built in reverb. It’s called a Pesky Dora or something like that.
Most ODs with good eqs will get you very very close with a solid state. I do this twice a week and have been for about a year. But again, please indulge your own inner gear urges.

I have a Vintage 47 185-G that I love. i usually use an archtop with it but it sounds great with my krivo too. I have a strymon flint reverb pedal, but don't really use it as the amp sounds full and lush without it.
I think the vintage 47's are a great value and Steve was super friendly and helpful when I purchased it and the 2nd one I ordered after for a friend.
Thanks for the info, TDog. If the Delta King doesnt knock it out of the park, I'll consider the Vintage 47. We're fortunate to have so many fine small tube amp options in this day & age. I really appreciate everyone chiming in here to offer their suggestions. There's nothing quite like the feeling of being on the bandstand when you love your tone.
