Regarding the "Unknown Samois Artists", this is really good stuff. I've only listened to about half of it, but there is some tremendous playing in these recordings. So far, what I have heard is off-stage playing/jamming, small groups of players and watchers. It would be a shame to take the mp3s down.
There are two .aiff files that are a gig apiece . Too big for me to download but I would guess these might be uncompressed versions of the mp3. Has anyone actually downloaded these big boys and compared them to the mp3s? If our host needs to free up some space in the directory, these .aiff files might be the first place to look as they are taking up at least half of it.
Gosh, you're right. I had seen 902 and 908 and automatically thought that was kilobytes. OK, if anyone wants those two aiff files grab them soon as they're going to have to come down.
Edit: I have converted the aiff files to mp3s -- they are about an order of magnitude smaller. And I now have lots of free space again.

Ha, Ha.... I did the same thing. If figured they were short information files, then I tried to download them and my download dialog box comes back with an expected download of 10 hours! Okay.... Abort!
Oh, and thanks for converting the .aiff files to mp3. I see now they are different, being 2005 Samois vs. the other four 2004 mp3.
Even as mp3s, these are big files, but there is a LOT of great playing in them. Definitely worth the time to download. As one who has never been to Samois (hopefully 2007), I have seen videos of the stage performances, but never much of the playing that takes place off-stage. These recordings are a great introduction. Sound quality is very good. Thanks to the recorder and poster.

Here's a good media player to play these files:

Hi Igross,
thank you very much for uploading this. It is great stuff.
Track 5 of the Sunday recordings is rather short. Has the uploading of this track been interrupted?
And are you able to tell a tracklist of both of the sessions here? I can´t figure out all of the melodies.
Best,
Barengero
