Lately I've been in the mood to hear some gypsy jazz with vocals (most of the recordings I have are with female singers, but I'm open to either women or men singers). Do you guys have any recommendations for some good recordings of this kind? Stuff along the line of the Gypsy Project cd with Sara Lazarus and Bireli. Thanks!

But my absolute favorite hands down is George Cole's new CD, "Riverside Drive", which features 10 original vocals on the 12 songs. It is my wife's (and my) favorite CD right now. Most of the vocals feature George, although he has a female singer on harmony plus a lead vocal and a duet or two. I don't know if Michael plans on carrying this or not, but I hope so. You can hear the tunes and order the CD at www.georgecole.net.
I also have a Moreno CD with some vocals tracks, but I can't remember the name right now. I'll try to check when I get home tonight.
Alex, I sent you a PM with details if you are interested. If anyone else is interested, PM or email me.

Another good CD with vocals is Swingphonicity by the New Orleans swing group Vavavoom. Lots of gypsy jazz influence.

Is it "Le Fils du Vent"?
Great CD.

While not straight up gypsy all the way, there are strong GJ influences on the following record and it is modern sounding. My quartet covers quite a bit of this material.
