Been working quite a bit on solo improvisation and some free form Jazz. Not really been doing much lately with Gypsy Jazz except for practising Stochelo's "Gypsy Summer"...I've become burned out with Gypsy Jazz and disillusioned a bit...really needed to get back to practising other forms of Jazz.
Yesterday and today it's been Flamenco/Rumba right hand patterns on my Nylon string. This stuff is hard!!!
But like everything....if it was easy..EVERYBODY would do it!!!
I know this isn't quite what you meant by your question, but here's what I did today. I put pearloid block fret markers on my Latcho Drom Nuages. Here's how: I took a jpg photo of some white Mother of Toilet Seat drum wrap I had around the house. I then PhotoShopped it into an antiqued-goldish color and sent it to Vistaprint and had the image transferred to a vinyl bumper sticker. I received the bumper sticker today, cut it up into block fret markers and put it on my Latcho Drom (which has the standard dots). Cost about 20 bucks. Even got an extra bumper sticker for a backup.
